Indoor Voltage Transformers for Control and Operations

Keep Voltage in Check

MV Indoor Single-Phase and Three-Phase Voltage Transformers 3.6-7.2 kV

Our 3.6–7.2 kV VT series provides indoor voltage transformer solutions across a range of configurations, including coil-molded VTs suitable for use as control and operating power sources, fully molded cast-resin VTs, and medium-voltage three-phase grounding voltage transformers. This series utilizes Huntsman Araldite® epoxy resin for insulation, ensuring maximum reliability and performance.

Units can be manufactured to IEC, IEEE, and other international standards, with customization, outdoor variants, and ODM/OEM services available on request.

All units are type-tested and routine-tested through a TAF-accredited (ILAC member) laboratory. We offer a wide range of specifications alongside customization and ODM/OEM services, making these CTs a proven choice for utilities, factories, and major infrastructure projects worldwide.

Coil Molded Single-Phase Voltage Transformers (Potential Transformers), Indoor Use

Coil Molded Single-Phase Voltage Transformers for Indoor Use

    EP-3SF/6SF Series

Intended for power systems of 7.2 kV or below, these single-phase coil molded voltage transformers, or potential transformers, are compact and economical. Model EP-3SF2 features a laminated core and is fixed by two metal frames; cut-core models EP-3SF5 and EP-6SFK are fitted on a metal base. All of the models come with two fuses on the primary side and are insulated with Araldite® epoxy resin. The EP-3SF/6SF Series is characterized by high moisture resistance and excellent electrical properties. In addition, the EP-6SFK model can be used as an auxiliary power source for circuit breaker operation (see Specifications).

    Other standards and specifications available.
** Models with a burden rating of 1000 VA or higher can be used as an auxiliary power source, also called a control transformer (CTR) or control power transformer (CPT), for circuit breaker operation (accuracy N/A).

Voltage Transformers as Circuit Breaker Operation Power Source

    EPF-3SF1, EPF-6SF2

EPF-3SF1 and EPF-6SF2 are primarily mounted on switchgear (3.3 kV and 6.6 kV, respectively) as an auxiliary power source for circuit breaker operation. Compact and of a flatter shape than other models, these voltage transformers are mounted on top of the power switch as an operation power source and are compatible with short-interval large output. With Araldite® epoxy resin as insulation, these voltage transformers also feature a Class-F heat-resistant insulation material for the coils. Two fuses on the primary side offer protection against overload and short circuit currents. EPF-3SF1 and EPF-6SF2 voltage transformers are characterized by a high-quality exterior, excellent moisture resistance, and superior electrical performance.

Three-Phase Grounding Voltage Transformer (GVT), or Grounding Potential Transformer (GPT), for MV Indoor Applications

Voltage Transformer (GVT) / Grounding Potential Transformer (GPT) for MV Indoor Applications

    EGP-3DF, EGP-6DF

The EGP-3(6)DF Series voltage transformers, designed for indoor applications, are three-phase “grounding potential transformers” (GPT), or “grounding voltage transformers” (GVT). On the primary side, each phase of the voltage transformer, or potential transformer, comes with a fuse to protect against overload and short circuit currents. This type of voltage transformer features coils insulated with Araldite® epoxy resin, as well as a five-legged laminated core. The primary rated voltage is 3300V (Y connection) or 6600V (Y connection). When the VT, or PT, is used in conjunction with measuring or monitoring instruments, the secondary rated voltage is 110V (Y connection).

This voltage transformer can also be used as a grounding voltage transformer for ground-fault protection. When any one phase of the primary side is grounded in an abnormal or accidental situation, the tertiary rated voltage is 0~190V (open-delta connection) or 0~110V (open-delta connection). The tertiary side produces and transmits a ground fault voltage signal to a monitoring device or ground relay, by which the VT (PT) achieves its monitoring purpose and the protection of equipment or individuals.
